I’m Elizabeth, and I’m Here to Support You Through the Journey of Parenting
Parenting is one of life’s greatest adventures, but it’s also filled with challenges, uncertainties, and moments where you might feel like you’re doing it all alone. Whether you’re managing the day-to-day struggles of raising a child with ADHD, Autism, anxiety, or depression, or navigating the complexities of co-parenting, I’m here to walk alongside you. My goal is to offer support, guidance, and practical tools to help you and your family thrive.
As a therapist specializing in working with parents, children, and co-parents, I understand the unique demands that families face. I believe that, with the right tools and insights, every family can find a path to greater understanding, connection, and resilience.
My Approach: Building Connection and Understanding
Parenting can often feel like uncharted territory—especially when emotional or behavioral challenges arise. That’s why I focus on building connections between you and your child, and fostering understanding within your family unit. Parenting is never one-size-fits-all, and I tailor my approach to meet the specific needs of your family.
I prioritize empathy and communication, creating a space where both parents and children feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll work through the tough moments and find ways to build stronger, healthier relationships. I believe that therapy should feel collaborative, where we not only address challenges but also celebrate strengths and successes.
Being a parent is rewarding, but it’s also a tough job—especially when you’re raising a child with unique needs.
Whether your child is dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, Autism, OCD, or Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, unsure of where to turn for help.
Here’s where I come in.
I work closely with parents to develop tailored strategies that help you better understand and support your child. We’ll explore:
- Practical tools for managing challenging behaviors
- Communication strategies that improve your relationship with your child
- Ways to help your child regulate emotions and develop healthy coping skills
- Approaches to create structure and consistency at home, making parenting more manageable and less stressful
Parenting doesn’t have to feel like you’re constantly putting out fires. We’ll work together to build a toolkit of strategies that not only help your child succeed but also bring more peace and balance to your family life. I’m here to offer you the support and encouragement you need to feel confident in your role as a parent, no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.
Empowering Children: Helping Them Grow with Confidence
Every child deserves to feel understood, valued, and confident in their abilities. But when a child is struggling with anxiety, depression, social issues, or behavior challenges, it can be difficult for them to see their own strengths. In therapy, I offer children a safe, supportive, and playful environment where they can express themselves freely and learn to navigate the world with confidence.
My work with children focuses on:
- Emotional expression: Helping children name and understand their feelings
- Coping skills: Developing strategies to manage anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotions
- Problem-solving: Encouraging kids to find solutions to everyday challenges
- Resilience: Building self-esteem and confidence so they feel capable of handling life’s ups and downs
Whether your child is experiencing difficulty with school, friendships, or behavior at home, I’m here to help them discover their strengths and build the skills they need to succeed. The goal is not just to address their current challenges but to empower them to approach future struggles with resilience and self-assurance.
Co-Parenting Support: Working Together for Your Child
Co-parenting brings its own set of challenges. Balancing the needs of your child while maintaining a respectful, productive relationship with your co-parent can be difficult, especially when there are unresolved tensions. I firmly believe that effective co-parenting is essential for the well-being of your child, and I’m here to help you navigate those dynamics.
In co-parenting therapy, we’ll work together to:
- Improve communication between co-parents, ensuring both voices are heard and respected
- Develop consistent parenting strategies that provide stability and clarity for your child
- Address any conflict or unresolved issues between co-parents that may be affecting the child
- Create a positive, supportive environment for your child’s emotional and psychological growth
The focus is always on what’s best for your child, and that often begins with creating a co-parenting relationship that fosters cooperation and understanding. Whether you’re managing shared custody, co-parenting after divorce, or simply trying to improve your teamwork, I’m here to provide the guidance and support you need to make co-parenting work for your family.
What You Can Expect
When we work together, you’ll find a non-judgmental, supportive space where your family’s unique needs are the priority. My approach is collaborative and tailored—I’m not just here to tell you what to do, but to work with you to find strategies that actually work for your family. We’ll tackle challenges step by step, focusing on what’s most important to you, and we’ll celebrate progress along the way.
Whether you’re navigating parenting challenges, co-parenting dynamics, or helping your child overcome emotional struggles, my goal is to help you feel empowered and connected. Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but with the right support, you can create the family life you want.
